BTW, did any of you have to cut anything to make the headers fit?

It is a big fine for a muffler shop to remove a Cat Converter. I beleive it is a federal law. Shops here wont touch it. So if you got cats, no side pipes for you. Unless you want to brave the mattress police and do it yourself. :seeya

No cutting other than a bit of fiberglass and the rocker panel. They need to be trimmed up a bit. Nothing Major.

The trimming is very very minor, and rocker panels are not that expensive comparatively to alot of things to replace if you chose to do so in the future. :seeya

Ill have to disagree a little here. For folks on a budget, the fiberglass panel for the rocket moulding, and the rocker trim strip are expensive. Try about $150-$200 for both

The flip side is that the trimming of the fiberglass moulding is easy, and easy to fix back up if so desired, just basic knowlegde in glassing will get you there. Thats to say, if you have the BLACK fiberglass moulding. If you have th chrome type, its a little harder. Black you just spray paint black over when done.

The moulding strip is a different story. Thats the aluminum strip that is attached to the 'glass moulding. It will either have to be dremeled away for relief, or slightly crushed. That repair is a different story

Not trying to get you away from the idea. Just be fully prepared. Also, check a catalog to see how much those two items cost for your own edification. I cant beleive how much that stuff cost. And its pretty flimsy stuff

One thing not mentioned earlier, heat in the interior is less with side pipes

Last thing as mentioned before. Check with the Smog ***** to see if inspection is an issue.

Quote from Jet Hot:

Bryan,

It would run $480 to coat your parts inside & out with our Sterling finish.
They do charge $80 for chrome removal. We'll need them here for 5-7 days
plus shipping time. Return shipping would be $60. If you're interested, we
do sell the whole system for $1125 for the small block Vettes. That
includes new headers, new mufflers and sidepipes. Of course they're coated
with our Sterling finish as well.

All parts receive a 3 year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping,
peeling, cracking, discoloration, rusting - anything. New parts also get a
lifetime rust through warranty as well.

Please ship your parts to:

Jet Hot Coatings
1840 West Drake Dr
Tempe AZ 85283

Just be sure to include your name and return info so we know who they belong
to and specify the finish of your choice. As for billing, you can either
include a credit card number with the parts or you can call one in to the
phone number listed below.

Thanks
