Hey,This is an outstanding forum here!! Just wondering how difficult it is to install these headers and pipes. Can it be done on the garage floor? Do the headers go in the car fairly easy? Or are they even worth the price you pay for them?? Looking for alittle more performance and making a little more noise. Thanks
yes, I installed mine with up on jakc-stands, but they are fairly easy to put on. the right side goes on really easy in my opinion, but getting the left side on can be a challenge, as you have to remove a lot of things. you will for sure love them, I do!
Just installed them on my 75. Very easy. About 4 hours. Dought you will notice much of a performance gain if any but you will notice noise gain, big time.
The most difficult part is getting the old exhaust off the car. If you have a/c you'll probably have to remove the compressor mounting to get to everything, and a 4 speed car you have to remove the clutch z-bar. If you can get a minimum of 24" clearance between the ground and the frame of your car, you have all you need. Use good jackstands and work safe,
If you have a stock type exhaust system now, you will notice a difference, both in sound and seat of the pants. If you already have headers, not so much
I bought mine with the hooker set up so I didn't actually install them.
But - I drove small blocks with manifolds, headers and 2.5" duals, etc and of all of them sidepipes are by far my favorite. I have personally always liked the look of the Hooker set up, especially on a C3.
IMHO everyone deserves sidepipes- just be careful not to cook your leg getting out of the car...
A really good choice, They look like they were made for a vette. ! The only thing I changed were the mounting bracket the stock bendable type are a little weak for my liking. [I fabed my own mounts]
Congrats and hope to hear you !
