A/C Heater Control Slider Locking UP
I have an '82 w/A/C. When I bought the car a few months ago the Slider would only go from off to A/C but no further to the right so could not egage heat, defrost, etc. I took the it apart and internals consisted of a metal spring/retainer device a plastic disc and it apperas each side is coated w/rubber with orifices for vacuum to be controlled/routed to different areas to turn on/off equip. Well I put it back toghether and it worked fine. Then all of the sudden same thing - would not slide past A/C again. I took it apart, put back together and now fine again. Something tells me this won't be the last time. Does anyone know what's going on with this and if there is possibly a rebuild kit or something that can be done aside from replacing the whole unit?
