Hey guys,im tired of hand filing piston rings, what piston ring filer is out there that is faster and easier,a good one not a cheap piece that you may get one use out of it,if you know what i mean Bill
I know about the ones that are available,i was wondering which ring filer is a good one.i dont want the very expensive one summit has, motorized.I would like to get one that you can set and get the same results on every ring, and not have to keep checking everytime i touch the file.If you know what i mean something a little less time consuming.i was looking at the summit 906000 ring filer, but wanted to here from so guys on here first.

I got the Powerhouse RingMaster Ring Filing Jig, and I like it just fine:
That looks pretty good ,you can get a precise cut ,instead of keep checking to see if you got enough filed off or not.
how long does it take to do a v8 engine,or your engine?
Anybody else have any experience with other ring filing tools?

I have one of the manual (hand crank) ones from powerhouse. I have done four engines with this filer and have no complaints. I only file one side of the ring so the other side can be used to ensure a square cut on the ring. After a while you get to know how many cranks it takes and you can get it quite close on the first try. I'm Quite fussy so it takes me about eight hours to to fit all eight bores.
