Anymore completed PYPES installations
Hey.. Trial fitting my set.. 72 350 sb factory manifolds got the down tubes and the rest of the system. PYPES SHOULD REALLY call this a 74-82 system. 
I am having the SAME PROBLEMS as all the other 68-73 guys are having. The right side is ALMOST perfect as is BUT the left side is a MESS
the pipe BEFORE the muffler does not have the correct bends and sends the muffler heading back into the spare tire carrier, and it seems to be too short also
also the right down tube hangs down 2" lower than the left side and there is nothing in that area that would cause the need for it to be lower than the left side 
Any COMPLETED 68-73 systems out there that could post pics???
MZMGB: do you have anymore pics of you completed 73 install??
I also hope Ccass from PYPES reads this and offers some answers

It does the same thing on a '76 model also. You might as well forget any "Real" help from Ccass. Regardless of what you might hear from some....your best friend will be a chop saw and a welder. I got my system before all the informative posts came out....Pypes obviously hasn't done anything to correct their poor quality. They outsourced their mufflers to China....maybe they're using the local mental hospitals for their tooling setups. Anything to cut a corner and save a buck....that's the "NEW" American way. Hammadown, it looks like you don't have the main x-pipe piece centered on the car. I gave up and went to a local muffler guy (not a chain/franchise place). It took us (he let me help) about 4-5 hours even with their experience to get it all lined up correctly. We also welded most of the connections to add rigidity. Finally, I trust you are using the U-clamps only for temporary positioning?

I prefer to use the local muffler guy. Not the franchise ones either. The local guy who is good at what he does has a family to feed and spends his money in the same community I live in. Help you and your community out first. If you cannot find what you need locally then go elsewhere but give the local guy a shot at it. Chances are it will fit a lot better. Besides that you paid for a bolt in swap on exhaust ended up with a one size fits all and will probably have to go to the local guy to get it to fit. He will probably spend more time on repairing yours than installing one he could bend up for you from scratch.

THey admit to having a problem with the left side pipe from the x pipe to the muffler and is sending out a new one!!!!!!!! They didnot KNOW where in production the problem occured but they are aware of it!!! And as far as the RIGHT sie down tube hanging lower..... Its because my tech left the HEAT RISER on the manifold when he was fitting the system So pypes said to remove it because their down tubes are the same length We'll see............

Are Pypes going to send out the correctly made left side pipe to all the people who had to suffer through their original couple of runs? They could sure redeem themselves if they were to do the right thing. We'll see, just what kind of vendor they are. God Bless America

Had my share of the pain too - I don't want to go back under there though.Actually, Pypes surprised me today by with my polished tips arriving 5-10 days earlier than promised. It irritated me that they weren't in the initial kit, but they did make it right.

BTAL........... the clamps are only for fitting and the x pipe and the rest of the system is loose and being supported by mechanical wire
hopefuly the correct pipe shows up tomorow and I can get it fitted better. I HOPE that the corrected left rear pipe is longer by 2'' at the muffler not only is the last bend off by a couple of degrees but it is also shorter than the right side
ALSO the down tube looks much better with the heat riser removed

If I had it MY way I woud keep the PYPES down tubes and X-pipe and have my own rear pipes made and purchase nice performance mufflers But you CANNOT PURCHASE THE X-PIPE SEPERATELY but you can buy just the downtubes and just the mufflers

Good luck getting the install completed the way you want it. Please post some sound clips if you can afterwards. I just got my system yesterday for an 81 and I'm going to the local muffler shop as soon as I get some good driving weather.

I did misunderstand you but I think you worded it wrong I dont think you'll have a problem . the system was built useing a late model c3 not a 68-73 c3 Hammadown

They could sure redeem themselves if they were to do the right thing. We'll see, just what kind of vendor they are. At this point they won't reply to any emails......I think it might be a sure nuff sign of what kind of vendor they are.

They are sending a new left pipe BUT it WAS suposed to arrive LAST friday So............ Monday ..no pipe Tuesday .....no pipe called on wednesday to ask WHATS up??? THEIR reply.............. OHH.............. we cant find your address 
is it Cumberland transmission in Cumberland RI? NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's Cumberland COLLISION !!!!!!!!!! So after 6 days and NO address to ship my pipe too, they didn't even BOTHER to call or e-mail
said I would get it friday
