I'm getting a Custom Transmission that resembles a T-5, but I need to know how far back from the bellhousing the shifter needs to be. If you know a range that would work, that would be incredibly helpful. Or, if you know if the shifter on C-3's is in the same place as the C-2's that would also work. This transmission was custom built for a C-2. Can I assume that since they had the same Muncies or no?
From the front face of the transmission down the centerline to the center of the shifter is 19.640" it is then 2.313" over towards the drivers side. The C2 and C3 used the same position.
I understand that front top of tko trans to shifter is 19.64 in and from center of shifter (Left 2.313in) would get me correct location. I will do my measurements tonight and see how much chuck to weld in. Where would be a good cut on the shifter? And moving that much would i still get a smooth shift?
I'm terribly sorry for the belated response. You guys were extremely helpful. My vender is SKspeed.com, but I think he's out of this particular tranny. They take an S-10 T-5 and a Camaro T-5 and squish them together as I understand it. It is $1500 + $50 shipping + $300 core, so I sent him that Tremec I advertised a while back.
