I can see complaining about a product right after purchase. But opening a box after two years and waving the lawyer card? Seems a little childish. Designs change overtime, two years from now the shifter will probably look different again. IMHO, if you buy something and fail to use it for two years your on your own.
I have to agree with that one, two years is way too long. My guess is that if you had called within a week or so and explained that this was going to be more than what you thought you were getting into you could have arranged to send the stuff back. Demanding it now is out of the question.
Seeing as how you have more than $2k in this thing, that was spent two years ago, seems to me that another $400 to solve the whole mess is pretty reasonable.
