68 Corvette Question

I'm comming down to the finish line in a frame off restoration. I have two brass and two plastic rectangular strikers that you would normally see in use on covertables and my 68 coupe has them. I do not remember if the brass strikers were mounted on the door or in the door jam. Any one have any input on this one?

Thanks for your follow up! This makes sense having the metal on metal and plastic on the fiberglass, thanks again!

One other thing, my door has two sets of mounting holes for the strikers, did yours, AL.
