Re: Those "Sharks" are really EXPENSIVE!!!! (midget)
Tht's no misprint. New in the box 30 year old Hot Wheels bring big bucks. That car used would bring about $50. Never opened in the box and it's at least $500.

Mint, original redline in the blister pack? In that kind of shape? With that color/interior variation? That's $500-600 all day long to a serious collector...
Re: Those "Sharks" are really EXPENSIVE!!!! (mrbeaubo)
Let's play nice mrbeaubo as a hot wheel collector I don't feel like I would be an idiot for buying that car. Sure it's pricey if you don't collect them, but it's no different than the right 30year old Baseball card or Comic book worth several thousand dollars. It just comes down to whatever floats your boat and as one person previously stated it's pretty rare to find a 30 year old Hot Wheel mint in the package and a Vette at that. :)

Not at all. I feel the same way about people who pay $300 dollars for Play Station 2's and X-Boxe's, but I can't call my brother and idiot....it wouldn't be nice :) :) :) :) :)

Let's see...for $605.99 (closing bid price) I could get a new bumper. Or a new cam with a new set of rocker arms, a timing chain, and probably some new valves. Leather seat covers. New tires. Or new rims.

Well said. I honestly had no clue that collecting Hot Wheels are that desirable. And to think I used to break apart 3 different Hot Wheels to build 1 new one. I'M AN IDIOT!
