Default alternator bracket

anyone know what the gm # is for an alternator bracket for a 75? I thought it was 3951337, but that doesn't bring anything up. Maybe the Chevy guys don't stock it anymore?

My book shows it as 460754 for 75-82 (EXC. 70 AMP). It doesn't show any alternative p/n for one w/70 AMP though.

I had emailed gmpartsdirect.com about this also and this is what they said.

14015539 first design malleable metal alternator bracket.
14015510 second design aluminum alternator bracket.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the aluminum one? Would it be worth the extra 20 bucks or so?

Default casting number on my bracket is 3951337

short water pump,

not sure about a 75, but you can look casting numbers on ebay and find these things. also, late 60's to early 70's chevy pickups used a short water pump with similar bracket.

3951337

The 5510 is for the 80's aluminum. The 5539 early metal. Other than that I know of no other diffrence.

Are these two brackets interchangeable? I have an 81 with the aluminum bracket that is broken. I can't seem to find another for less than $100, but the cast iron ones are much cheaper and I imagine more durable.
Thanks!
