I haven't posted in a while mostly because I have been living in Orlando and my car is in Atlanta. Now I'm back and driving my baby again, but some weird things are going on. My horn wont work when I try to use it and I found a little spring and a small metal pin looking thing with a plastic piece laying on the floor. But the really weird part is that the horn randomly honks when I'm driving down the road. Making me look like a jerk to some people. I don't know it its a wiring thing or what. Wondering if anybody has ever heard of this and what I should do to try to find the problem.
What you found were the horn contact and spring. If you pull off the horn button, you'll probably find that the insulated ring with the nylon rivets is broken. You'll need a horn repair kit and those parts you found will need to go back in. They come with one version of the repair kit. Look in one of the catalogs for pictures.
Here's a picture of the part that it sounds like you need. The contact you found touches the ell shaped metal piece that sticks down and that contact fits on the end of the spring and the spring drops down in the cylinder to the plate underneath. Take off the horn button and look to see if your's looks like this or if the rivots are seperated. The three screws that hold it to the column need to be removed to put the spriing and contact back in.
