Flexplate Help...

Flexplate Help...
The flexplate on my '82 has gotten fubar'd....I've already got one to replace it...my only question is...What all do I need to take off to do this....I know that the engine and transmission have to be separated...but what all will this encompass???

Not a fun job....
(this is from memory, so someone chime in if wrong)
Unless you have a lift, or some VERY STRONG buddies, rent a tranny jack or rig up a floor jack.
1) drop drive shaft (stick a rag in the tail section of the tranny as fluid will drip.
2)Loosen crossmember for tranny, and linkage/harness/modulator line
3)remove bolts attaching torque converter to flex plate
4)with jack supporting tranny---unbolt it and slide it back and out
remove flex plate
