Yesterday I spent 2 hours trying to set the TPS using WinALDL. When I started the TPS was reading -1.7. After adjusting the TPS the only two reading near 0.525 was 0.2 and 0.7. The refresh rate of WinALDL appears to be about every 3 seconds so I would move the senor and waited. I tried tightening down the TPS make sure of only minor movement but still no luck.
I am not bad mouthing WinALDL, I think it is a great tool. I think I must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?
I used 3 solid non-stranded automotive wires, maybe 8AWG, of about 3-4 inches log and curled both ends so they would make good contact in both the TPS and the wire connector. I removed the insulation so I could make connection with a DVM.
I then used 2 grabber hooks with my DVM to make the adjustment. Key turned to run but not started. No wait for updates.
The right side rearward screw for pivot was semi-loose. The left side frontward screw for adjustment maybe a little looser. Slowly moved it into position. My meter was autoranging so I could only get resolution to 2 digits, so 0.52-0.53VDC. Set it so it just starts to hit .53 and your OK.
When I started it was ~.23!!!. Noticable change in throttle response obviously.
