Default What is this flasher?

1975 Corvette: I found two flashers - a 12 volt round flasher and a Delco Remy square flasher in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. Looked all over the manual and can't find out what these are for. Both pretty rusted and covered with dirt and dust. Any ideas?

The square one in the storage compartment is probably an alarm system relay. The round one, depending on where you found it, is probably either a signal flasher or a hazard flasher.

The turn signal flasher is located on the passenger side, clipped behind the knee pad. The hazard flasher is located ON the fuse panel under the driver's side dash.

the square one is the alarm relay.

the flasher one is used to honk the alarm horn back by the drivers rear wheel.

Oh I get it, he meant he found BOTH the round AND the square IN the storage compartment. I thought he said he found a round one, and then he found a round one in the storage compartment, and just didn't specify where he found the round one. Whoops.

well, there are two of those things back in the stowage area (passanger side) and they are both for the alarm system (a relay and a flasher for the horn). i'm guessing that those are the two she found. if that's not the case, i'm sure she will speak up.....

You all are great! Thanks for the help. Just to clarify I found BOTH in the storage compartment behind the passenger seat. Thought it was a funny place for them but........the alarm didn't work anyway. Thanks
