Default Problem Hot starting my engine, after performance Mods..

I want to run this past you guys and see what you think...
After getting what I think is the optimal airflow in and out of my motor a little starting problem has cropped up..heres what happens..
In the Morning cold motor 40 ambient or so , I choke her half way, she fires right up and I adjust the choke till she's warm, great. After the motors run, and I shut off, it appears that the combustion chambers load up with fuel(wet plugs)??Because then, when I try to restart the warmed motor I have to crank it for 3-4 seconds and then it will stumble to life just like a flooded motor does. Would the carb move to a too rich condition with these engine airflow and advance mods?(SEE MY SIG) 14degrees at idle,..Whats your thoughts on correcting this..should I be looking at leaning the holley out gradually?? The motor always fired right up before before the air and ignition upgrades..
Need anymore info, please ask...
Thanks in advance..
TC
PS No chance of a vacuum leak affecting this situation, I have it blocked at the manifold, so bypass that possibility..
Also the motor runs great in all ranges after it does get started..

My guess would be something concerning the float or percolation. Float set too high or sticking.

When you speak of leaning out the Holley, do you mean changing jets or leaning the idle mixture? I would think, that if you improved the air flow, you would be on the lean side already.

check this thread half way down also....and to quote Norval at the very end...

If it is hard starting when hot like pulling in for gas and when you go to restart it and it needs alot of cranking and then starts and runs lousy for a few seconds I would blame this on flooding due to fuel vaporizing or more likely a small leak in the carb allowing raw fuel into the intake manifold. To start a warm engine you should not have to give it any shot of fuel. I step on a throttle lightly not pumping it but just slightly opening the throttles a little and turn the key and it fires right up and quickly idles totally normal. No smoke out the back due to flooding.

Next time it does this, better if you know it will. Manually pump the throttle and see if fuel is being pumped into the carb.
If it isn't then its hot soaked and you have both a flooded engine and no fuel in the bowl.
I had this problem and put an electric pump in. If I run into the store and back out I can prime the bowl and go. Other wise it has to do both.
My switch is momentary on, so it goes back to the oil pressure safety wiring.

Just as something simple to try, try backing your initial timing back to where it was before you advanced it and see if it doesn't warm start a little better.
