Default valuation on a 68 convertable

Could y'all give me an opinion on the asking price for this car. $8500 needs frame. I have a extreme BB and rearend already and need a car. I would need to take body off and do frame work no matter the shape of the car in order to support my powerplant. all opinions welcome Thanks Tom

If you are putting in there what I think you are, then get a coupe for more support for a roll bar. There is not enough in this car to salvage. I basically will need everything except a vert frame. Wiring harness, interior, exterior trim, etc. Just not enough to pay for the investment.

Looks like it needs a birdcage too if the pillar the VIN is attached to is any indication.

I would want to see the birdcage, but if you are going to take it apart anyway, it might not be that bad.

I persoally wouldn't want a C3 that needs the frame fixed for free unless it's a ZL-1 or L-88

You can get running and driving C3's with good frame for under $15k..

Here are 2 examples of cars that sold for under $15k

Thanks everyone. Olivier I would have like the Blue one for that price. Did you notice that was the same company that woas selling the white basket case. I got Nicks 638ci engine and Dana 60 rearend. I am looking for a convertable to put it in. I need to fine a good deal and would like to have a bumper car but that is not a must. If anyone sees something good please let me know. Thanks Tom

WOW - with the right setup, that could be a 8 second setup on engine (on a light car)
I'll keep my eyes open for any good deals.. I'd also check on racingjunk.com
They often have great deals on rollers.. A roller is what you need.. If I'd have that 638, I'd actually consider a tube chassis to run 7's

roller = vehicle without engine and transmission

This term is mostly used with race cars but applies to regular street cars too. It's usually a complete vehicle without engine and transmission but not necessarily.. Sometimes, more than just engine and transmission are missing but USUALLY those vehicles only need engine and transmission to be complete!

Here are examples for rollers:
