Default Need a little NON C3 guidance

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have my mom's 91 Caravan sitting in my driveway dead. Its getting spark..but I cant hear the fuel pump running. Is there a site I can get some info, or does anyone know where the relay/fuse for the fuel pump is on this thing? Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Don't know anything about those but a Haynes manual would probably point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Relay is under the hood, but it's the pump that usually fails.

There should be a snyder valve with a cap, looks like a tire valve. Somewhere near the TBI. Push it in, if it has pressure then the pump is just waiting. With the loss of pressure the pump should kick on again. It may have a LOT of pressure so put a rag or something over it. If it goes on this isn't the problem. If not then it is.

Every time you turn the ignition switch to on, the pump should prime for at least 2 seconds. You aren't hearing it are you? I agree with wrencher, I have had this happen to 4 vehicles in the past 3 years. It was the fuel pump EVERY TIME.

I know this sounds stuipd but it's worth a shot. My old jeep did the same type of thing two or three times. (another Chrysler product) Look under the hood for the relay/fuse box. Remove the one marked fuel pump. (looks like a little black box about 1 inch x .5.) Tap the relay on the ground upsidedown for a couple of minutes. Pop it back in and see if she starts.

If it does drive to Pep Boys or some other auto parts store and pick up a new relay.

I had the same type thing happen to me in the Jeep and a Chrysler mechanic stopped to help once and showed me the trick. If this works that little relay is going bad, and needs to be replaced. I know it sounds stupid, but I'd try first - if thats the problem it's a cheap fix.

Good Luck!
