Head light switch

Just put in a new wiring harness on a 71. There are 2 plugs on the headlight legs that go to nothing. What are these for? Thanks

both must have been removed. are they worth replacing ? headlights work as they should up and down. that must be why the dash light never works.

Cheap plastic in an exposed position. Never saw the point in putting them back myself. Then my vacuum system is good and I'm not that worried about the headlights being on but down.

Only if you want that part of your Corvette to operate the way it was intended to by the engineers who designed it. The warning light is designed to be on if the headlights are on but not up and locked, i.e., the knees are over center so they cannot sag if vacuum to the actuator goes away. It was meant as a safety feature. I like everything on my Corvette to work as intended, but not everybody feels that way.
