It all depends on what it is being used for. A cover in the garage for dust, you won't need much. A cover for the elements outside and you'll need a whole different type and quality. Check out the big venders websites and get an idea of the different ones offered then I'd check ebay first.
I would not suggest using a car cover for any long term outside purpose. The wind will move it around resulting in an abrasive effect on paint, especially on edges.
I'm thinking just as dust cover for parking in the garage. Some say they can scratch the finish, so best to buy the better quality. Any brand and source sugestions? THANKS! Mick
I've had real good luck with Wolf brand covers. They're soft, last a long time, I've washed them with no ill effects, and they fit great. Only negative is cutting a hole for the antenna ends up being a raggedy hole after a while. I get 4-5 years minimum out of them in an outside car port. As for cars that are in the elements (mainly sun out here), I just buy the el cheapo brand and throw 'em away every year or two when the sun fries 'em. Keeps my interiors in one piece.
I keep car covers on all my cars that are parked in the garage. It helps keep the dust off, and keeps them clean longer. Also for the occaisonal times that they are hit or something is put on them they protect the paint from scratches. I looked at the Mid America catalog and they have a matrix of car covers versus specs. What cover is good for interior storage, outside storage, weather resistant, etc. This helped me make my decision.
