Default Installing DeWitt 16" in C3

hey guys im about to install the C3 fan package I ordered from Tom and I had a few questions. Just wanted to know if anyone has installed this fan kit on a C3 and ran into any trouble. I want to do this in my friends garage at his place and we dont have a huge selection of tools. Mostly wrenches, screwdrivers, a drill, ect ect just basic stuff since he goes and takes his goofy Honda to the local shop :P

Will we be able to pop the hood, take the old fan off, pop off the belt, and install the new system with no problems? Is there any soldering or can I hook the system up with ring terminals. Do I have to connect the system to the battery terminal or is there another way to keep the entire system under my hood? I constantly check my temp while I'm driving so it shouldnt be a big deal I would think.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you

-Jeff

You can make all the connections withg ring terminals, basic tools etc, no problem. Tom does a good job on his kits. Pull the fan shroud, fan, clutch etc and put the new fan in place. I have not seen the kit but can imagine some drilling so be carefull not to punch a hole in the radiator.

Easy install if you take your time and have friend to help. When I first tried dropping mine in, the left fan hung up on the upper a-arm mount. I pulled the radiator and called Tom DeWitt with an SOS. He told me the obvious. I could easily take out some screws to slide the fans over about 3/4" and then screw them back in. Worked like a charm and with a little manuevering, got the radiator and fan assemblies in quickly.

Due to the amperage pull, I did run a new main power line from the battery to a terminal block and then connected the fan and switches directly to that. I think it's better than trying to tap into an existing circuit.

All in all, an easy and rewarding job. I love the radiator and fans!

Good luck. Let me know if you'd like me to post some pics.

btw in the instructions it says the fan is to supplement and not replace the stock fan and/or shroud. does that mean i have to keep the stock fan or just the shroud. i was wanting to eliminate the stock fan so i can free up some HP for my car.

Did you get the dual SPAL fans? Those would completely replace the stock fan and shroud.
