Default Pypes Ignoring Their Customers

Those of us...the majority of us who received a Pypes system for our
C3's have found out, besides the fact that they sent the systems out short of parts, but the system, especially the left side was manufactured incorrectly. They denied the problem to many of us, and now finally have admitted to one of our forum member, Hammadown, that they screwed up. Don't you think the right thing for them to do would at least send us the correctly built part? They just seem to want to ignore emails and brush off us trusting folks who invested good money on their fairly pricey systems. Just because they supposedly sponsor this forum, shouldn't all the, so called powers to be, get together and weed out the crappy sponsors to protect the real enthusiasts and not just the **** keyboard hacks who want to control everything on this forum, when they themselves probably couldn't air up their own tires without going to a dealer. Yes I'm talking to you.... "Idiot"...you know who you are. Can't we look out for the good, of the many, instead of whoring out to a bunch of incompetent *****?

It is nice to think everybody is going to take the high ground, however; any kind of recall or product replacement could wipe out a small manufacturer. That won't do any good for them or the customers.

I think the best you can hope for is that they share information on how to make the system work as good as it can. Then do it on your own expense.

Not ideal but that is about as good as it gets with a small specialized market.

Do you really think IB cares about your exhaust issue and will stop accepting money from pypes because of that?
Unfortunately actually knowing something about these cars is not a requirement to be a forum judge here, but what are you to do about it? As a result they won't be able to distinguish the BS from the rest.

PYPES is not a small co AND they dont just make systems for corvettes they JUST added the vette system to their MANY other systems they make. AND speaking of making systems...THEY NEED TO GET A 68-72/73 car in their shop and make the correct system for these years OR STOP LABELING THEM FOR THESE YEARS and only label them for 74-82 !!!!!!! abd THE BEST THING THAT PYPES COULD DO FOR THEIR REPUTATION is HONOR all the requests for the correct pieces for those that have the early years 68-72/73. at this point in time I DOUBT THAT THEY SOLD MORE THAN A COUPLE OF HUNDRED AT THE MOST to these early years
IF my system fits the way it should after I fit THE UPDATED/REPLACED CORRECT LEFT REAR PIPE.... I WILL PRAISE PYPES if it doesnt fit correctly ...you can bet your *** that Its going back to PYPES for a FULL REFUND
WHAT is SO HARD to get a 68-72 car in their shop and make the CORRECT system for these years?????????????? IF I lived near them I would let them use MY CAR in a HEARTBEAT
Sooo............. with that said, It really is a shame to be this FUSTRATED with such a SIMPLE thing as an exhaust system

I have WAY MORE technical things to wory about, like setting up my TV cable on my new 200r4

PS:....... I am NOT having a problem with the CAP's lock on my keyboard

Nice to know I'm not the only one that had problems with the system. One side fits great and points out correctly, the other side does not. The other problem is that is sits pretty low and I've scrapped it already on those nice polished pipes. I also had problems getting the pipes into the flared openings, I had to open them up further twice on both sides. I'm going to take it to a performance exhaust shop hopefully they can fix it. I wish I would've just gone local from the start, would've saved some dough and supported a local shop.

For the record....I have a 76 and have the same issue, it's not just the earlier C3's. They still won't reply to my email...they had no problem taking the money though. I sure was hoping they'd redeem themselves and send out some correct parts. Based on their workmanship, maybe they're all in the tank trying to dry out, and that's why they can't reply to my requests......turds!

I attempted to install my PYPES system this past Friday on my 76. It took me 20 minutes to remove my 2 1/2 CC stainless system. After 2 hours of messing with PYPES system without success, I ripped it all out to re-install my old system. After installing my old down pipes I tried their crossover pipe - Fit great. The right side fell into place. The left side went if OK except for the tail pipe - the pipe is 2" - 3" too short and the mounting bracket is in the wrong place. I used a Tork-Tite band clamp & bent the bracket.

I will say this - the system sounds great - much better then my old system.

PYPES is 20 minutes from where I live. I plan on visiting them this week so they can see where the porblems are on a 76.

Another day......No reply, and no good parts from Pypes. Did they skip the country? Are they hiding under a rock hoping that all this will just blow over? I work too hard for my money to let some jack-leg outfit to get away with this crap. Buyers Beware!

Well... I got the new pipe, it seems to angle better, BUT........its still 2" shorter than the right side so I guess I"ll have to cut 2'' off one of the useless (NON polished muffler tips that I dont need for my year) and add it to my muffler to make both sides even

maybe someday PYPES will get their act together

Yep, it does appear so.

I'm holding off on buying anything from Pypes- for my C3 or my 2nd gen Camaro- until they get this design defect corrected in production. I'm going to need to buy my Camaro system very soon so I'll probably have to go with the Magnaflow system for it. I wish it was an option for my C3. Time will tell if Pypes is interested in producing a defect free product.
