I had a few questions about putting sidepipes on my car that I was hoping a few people could help me with.
First, I have the steeroids rack and pinion steering set-up so I am wondering if there are any fitment clearance issues with the kits on Mid Amderica.
Second, how difficult is the install? Anything hard about it? Do I need to drill any new holes anywhere or is this pretty much a bolt on?
I know I have to fill the exhaust panels in the back as well. Anyone use the panels from Mid America or Vettes by Design? I sent VBD an e-mail asking for pics or more information but never heard back.
We have the factory install instructions posted on our web site. Doing the installation is not that hard but you do have to remove some of the lower fender which will only be exposed if you take off the rocker moulding.
On your 1973 car, you will need to either purchase an exhaust panel with “ears”, (see the ears sticking out to fill the old quarter panel holes.
Or you will need to run the 1969 rear exhaust panel for a car with side exhaust and fill in the area on the rear quarter panel where ½ the outlet is located.
I’m not sure about steroids getting in the way of the pipes. Someone else may have more experience with this and be able to help you.
