So I had to get a complete paint job after being hit in the front end; now I have to make it last!
Is there something that will protect the body paint where the convertible top rests on the body? Something that won't harm the paint in the long term while it keeps from letting the top rub the paint?
Yes there is. Check with the various Vette vendors. There is a clear plastic piece that is available that lays across the deck where the top rests.
BTDT, tends to blow off in the wind, from the leading edge on either side.....I gave up, used to use some tape on the deck, it helped, but looked like crap with the top down.....now a daze in Florida, not an issue, the top is never UP.....

Seems like I got mine from Corvette America. I got one for the soft top and another one for the hard top. The hard top will never be on the car but I bought one anyway. What they sell is a static cling jobber do thing that sticks to the car and is wide enough to cover the area under the weather strip and the top. I would not leave it on the car without the top in place, I would be afraid it will blow off the car.
