Carpet from HELL
Just finshed installing new carpet from Wixcox in my 74 coupe.
One whole day just on the f**king wheel wells.
Carpet was from ACC. Boy those guys need to rework their preform molds. They
SUCK. Rest of it went well. Got some other int. stuff to put
in. My int. is med. saddle. I think every vendor has their own color.
Nothing I have bought matches.
Have to repaint everything to
get it close.
From one Vet to the other out there, have a great day.

I feel ya, I had to take my acc stuff and cut and clip it to fit as well. For what you pay you would expect more. It was a laugh for my wife though seeing my biggggg butt holed up in the well there trying to get it cut and fitted!

1970 Green Carpet
I need to replace all of the carpet in a 1970 I just bought. Any suggested sources for precut carpet and padding?
Does the basic jute padding work well enough or do you suggest the heat/noise reducing carpet padding?

Great, my carpet from ACC just arrived. I wish I would have known this before I ordered. This was supposed to be Bloomington quality. From the sounds it's back street quality. I'll find out soon.

It doesn't matter who you order your carpet from there are only 1 or 2 suppliers. One is ACC. I put the heat reflective material down first. I only used glue on the vertical surface behind the seats. My carpet needs some hot sun to help it flatten out. Two words of advice before you start: 1. take pictures of the inside and carpet before you remove it; and 2. keep the old carpet until you are finished. I did neither and had a heck of a time figuring out how things went back in. Replace the drain tubes that go to the rear wheel wells while you are at it. I also redid the vents by your feet.

Be sure & save your old carpet, it will help out. The replacement carpeting over the rear wheels is an absolute b#$%@^ to get it to fit right in a vert.
