I have a 70 with the 454 do I need the vented or sealed gas cap? I don't have the canister for fumes in the front of the car,I think that was for California cars.
If you look back through the 5/25/08 threads you will see my question about the Fuel Seperator..I learned that you can remove the entire Vapor Canistor line and plug that port on the Driver Side of your tank so long as you use the Vented Cap.
I went through the similar question and search issue just last weekend. for my 1971....What I just got in the mail today was a GM Genuine Box with Part # 395-2708 vented Cap to replace my old Non-Vented Cap..as I write this I am trying it on my filler neck I removed to clean...and sweet..it fits like a glove. Made in China. (no politics right?)
Purchased online from Greenwood Chevrolet Youngstown OH and delivered in 4 days for $4.75 shipping $54.00 price.
Original owner of a 70 coupe and my original cap is not vented. I even have a non vented locking gas cap I use overnight on the car when it is away from the garage.
