rams horns are the only way to fly. there were a ton of 60's thru 1970 chevy 350's putting out 350hp from the factory with the rams horn exhaust manifolds. headers will increase your flow but in my opinion are not worth the baggage that comes with them.
Sorry, but if you actually look at their more realistic hp values, rather than the prior inflated values, no they never did.
The 1971 LT-1 was rated by GM at 330 hp. With no changes it was de-rated to 255 hp in 1972 for a 23% drop in rating.
The highest ratedtrue small block produced by GM was the '64-'65 fuelies rated at 375 hp. Take away the 23% "overage" and this comes down to just 290 hp.
