I am getting my 69 (purchased about a year ago) back to original. After replacing the after market shifter with the stock shifter, I installed the backup light switch to the reverse lever expecting to get backup lights in reverse. Low and behold, not the case. All four of my rear lights are solid red. (You think I might have noticed the lack of a white backup lens).
I have a lot of looking around to do under the car to see if the wiring and optics are still there but...
Do the stock backup lens and bulb holders have two bulbs in each? Is there suppose to be optics to backup bulbs? If needed, can the optics and wireing be installed in the car without my taking car apart?
you will need a set of correct '69 back up lenses for that car. They are the ones with a circular pattern in the clear portion of the lens, not the ones that have the small square patterns. I believe there is only one bulb per lens, the tail light bulb should be a dual filiment bulb. The back up bulb has to be different, and only single filament. I think there are optics in the back up bulbs, and you will likely have to at least take apart a portion of your interior to install new optics/wire as needed. I have my interior out, so I can take pics of the wire location if you need. Hope this helps!

Pictures would be a great help. I don't mind taking apart the interior again to wire it properly. Thanks.
