I am working on a 1969 Corvette for my son's friend's Grandfather. I've been working my way through and think I have fixed all the vacuum problems but one, and I think I have an electrical problem with the wipers . The headlights work properly, but when I start the car the windshield wiper door opens right away. I jumped past the vacuum relay behind the tach and I can get the door to open and close with the manual over ride, I think the relay may be bad but need to check voltage to it first.
My main question:
When I turn the wipers on they work. When I turn them off they go back to the park position about 90% of the way but then will not shut off.
They cycle up and down about 3-4 inches and never stop.
If I kill the battery they stop and do not start again until I turn the wipers back on. I figure since it is a 69 vette the wiper electrical has to be similar to a Camaro. Is this just a bad Wiper Motor. I don't want to replace it without making best effort to make sure it is bad. I also do not understand the correct adjustment or testing of the Wiper limit switch in front middle of the firewall. Anyone have any advice or troubleshooting ideas.
Sounds like your not energizing the "park" relay. It can be the relay or the wiring or the switch.Go to the Wilcox site and their info will help you get to the bottom of your problem. http://willcoxcorvette.com/repairand...elp.php?hID=95
