Transmission Help!
I just changed the filter on my 1970 350 T400 transmission. Put everything back together and added about 2 1/2 quarts of transmission fluid. I started the car, put it in gear and nothing. So I added another 1/2 quart of fluid. This time it would move forward and backwards but with alot of throttle applied. When I shut down I heard a hissing sound and noticed fluid coming out of the transmission filler cap. Whats Up?

In changing the atf in a 350, you remove a little over 4 quarts. it sounds like you are low on fluid. I would add another 1/2 quart and then check the fluid level. This is done after the car is at operating temp, engine running, and car on level ground.

Just got back from the parts store and put 3 more quarts in. Works fine now. It just didn't seem like that much came out when I drained the pan. I put a total of 5 quarts in after the filter change. Now on to something else! Thanks
