Default Rear Alignment Question....

After installing a new left trailing arm on my '69, I noticed the toe-in is very slightly too much. To adjust it, I'll have to remove the T/A pivot bolt to change the shims (the '69 shims have the holes that the bolt slides through).

My question.....now that everything is together, is it OK (safe) to remove the pivot bolt to change the shims? No tension issues on the arm??.......

Just support it so it want move, If you get the slotted shims, you want have to remove the bolt.

I found that the TA placed some tension on the pivot bolt when I aligned mine. Can't remember how I handled it, but just an FYI. The rear spring may also try to pull on the arm. I'd suggest extreme caution. When you do this once you'll realize why Chevy switched to slotted shims with a lock cotter pin.
