Default noisy lifter I think

Hi folks
Ran the car today for about 50 miles and when it was warm I could hear a lifter or rocker under the cover. At idle I could actually feel it by putting my hand on the t bolt.
Is this a big deal to fix?

Just an adjustment unless a lobe is worn or another part is bad.

Default Not going to believe this

I took the rocker cover off today and started the engine...quiet as a mouse - no loose rockers. So I looked closely at the cover. There were marks on the inside where the rockers had been hitting. So just for fun I turnd it the other way around and put it back on. When I started the car it was perfect. Gonna have a talk with the speed shop. Geez!

Wondering if you need tall valve covers?

There is a thick valve cover gasket available. Sounds like you are at the verge of needing tall covers. Glad it was nothing major.

I chased the same problem with my VC except mine were the tall ones from cal custom. My 1.6 rockers were hitting on the side so I had to grind a relief on the inside of the cover. It’s a good thing they were thick aluminum, or maybe a bad thing, if they weren’t thick they may not have hit at all
