Power window clunking noise
My power windows on my 1980 go up and down but the driver side window makes a clunking noise as it moves. It still moves pretty fast. Last year I had a problem with the door intermittently not unlocking. When I was in there fixing that I tried to clean and lube the window tracks but with no improvement. Any suggestions?

Yup, the window is hanging up on something in there, tough to say WHAT though......BTDT years ago, and it varies with the cars....

What works for me most of the time is greasing the hook on the coiled spring but you have to pry it back and get the grease between the hook in the spring and the stud the spring hooks on.

Thanks, DWncchs. This sounds like something worth trying. It'll be a lot of fun reaching through the hole to do it but I could see this making the kind of clunking noise I have!
