TH400 won't shift?

TH400 won't shift?

I down shifted first from dr. to 2nd, then 2nd to low at about 20 mph,
and came to complete stop. Put it back up in dr. when I took off, it
would not shift at all. It just stayed in low.

Luckly I was only a
mile from home. Check oil and it is full with no oder.

What the H#ll could be the problem??? All help wanted.
By the way, I was coming home from my first car show sence I
got the car back on the road. (500+ cars at it in Ontario,Ca.)

First thing to look at is the vacuum modulator. Make sure it's connected. If it came undone on a downshift, the very next thing I would replace would be the pass. side motor mount.

Will it go into park? If it wont it might be the cable.Otherwise make sure you have vacuum at the modulator.
