For those of you who have rebuilt your Muncie 4 speeds who's rebuild kit did you purchase? I have heard a number of people claim D&L Transmission carries the best rebuild kits but I was just curious if there are others. Thanks for your time.
I bought mine from Paul Cangialosi at 5Speeds. The kit was complete, I bought the video, and Paul was even available for a little technical support when I had a question.
Cool. I forgot about them. How would you rate the rebuild as far as difficulty level? Were there any special tools that you needed to pickup in order to complete the rebuild?

Paul is the man to deal with. He was a tremendous help to me.
Buy the video. No special tools but I did go to a machine shop to press the gears off the main shaft. Also, make sure you mark the gears (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) because once they are pressed off the shaft it is a little hard to identify them. I had to count the teeth to make sure I had the gears right, so learn from my mistake.
Good prices, good people, they have everything in stock, located in southern MN.
A good press is needed. Measure and write down where the speedo gear is located on the shaft. a 7/8 or 1 inch dowel will help with the installation of the countershaft (will hold the roller bearings in place)
