I'm cruising down the road and the speedometer needle fell off!
Has this happened to anyone else?
How do I fix it.
It must have a slot it goes in, theres nothing in there to brake it off. It must have wigled loose.
Any wisdom on this before I tear apart my dash.
The needle on the speedo should just push on the pin that comes through the face. The only problem you have to take the lens cover off of the cluster and you didn't say what year your car is but that's all you should have to do to put it back on unless something else is broke on the speedo.
Oops, It's a 76.
The problem is that the little round button that pushes on the pin is not what fell off. The needle fell out of the round button in the center. leaving the little short piece oposite the long piece(that fell out)still on and functioning.
Does that make sence? I'm confusing myself.
In short, just the long piece of the needle fell off.
