I have a 75 L48 4 speed with 80000 miles. I have diven the some in the winter around the block or so. Now that the weather is better been out and about when ever possible. I have onle put about 3000 miles since I purchased it. THE PROBLEM: When I take off nice and easy from a stop, I hear a click-click- sound almost like its from the passanger tire. What can it be and what should I look for?
The next problem is when I am making the left turn into my drive way again from a stop and I slowly let go of the clutch and move foward I get a grinding type sound from the back side / drivers side rar tire possibly. I am not sure if this happens when I turn right...
Any help would be great.
Check joints and side yokes. Be sure side yokes are not hitting the housing and grinding it away.
Look for rust stains on the joint caps and play in them. Jack up the car and see how much play you have in the bearings.
