I have done my searches on this subject but was hopeing someone had a basic list of whats needed to convert my 1977 4spd car to a 5spd. I have access to plenty of used parts and parts cars so everything will be used (minimal new parts to keep the cost down).
Any help with this would be great.
Thanks
Jimbo
There are a few 5 speed options to choose from based on what you can afford. Will you be doing all of this yourself or buying a kit from a vendor, like a Keisler or such?
I think a budget DIY setup is the Ford T5 swap. It takes some custom parts and salvage yard searching, but the word is you can get it all done for under $2K depending on how much you find the transmission for.
I have a ZIP file with some info on that swap, if you want to send me your email address.
Thanks, that would be great, I will PM you my email address.
yes I will do all the work myself, I am kind of looking for what year transmisions, crossmembers etc are the easiest to use.
thanks
