Default Rear spring brand difference?

Is there any difference in the VB&P vs the Vansteel vs the Gulstrand rear composite springs. The Gulstrand prings says it is shorter than stock is that true of the others? Any difference in construction or quality that anyone knows of?

I don't think Guldstrand has composite springs. I thought he only had steel springs and the main leaf(bottom leaf) is shorter.

We carry Hyperco springs and VBP makes their own. They are constructed in a very different manor. They Hyperco springs are made just like the OEM springs are that came in the 81-82 vettes. Hyperco uses a higher arch with softer rates and VBP uses a lower arch with higher rates.

Well to answer the Gulstrand question they sell somebodys springs and they don't look like TRW.

Are your springs shorter than stock to provide some tire clearance?

The Guldstrand spring is steel. As the advertisement says, it is designed to replace the main steel spring of a normal multi-leaf steel spring. It's a little shorter than stock so you can run wider tread tires.

Also, probably VBP will sell their standard width fiberglass springs in shorter widths if you want. (I bought a reduced length fiberglass spring from them several years ago.)

Default Rear Spring

VBP manufactures their springs in a variety of spring rates and various arch styles. They typically have all rates in stock and can fit you right into the rate and arch style that will work best for your Corvette and what you hope to accomplish with regard to performance and handling. They can also shorten the length if necessary to fit larger wheels and tires. They even have an adjustable spring system that allows you to set it up for a soft, touring ride, then jack her up, make some little adjustments and adjust the spring rate a little higher to have a fun day at the track.

You can call them toll free at 1-800-237-9991 and speak with their techs, Gary or Steve.

They have the most variety of rates and arch styles available tailored to fit your driving style. If you have a particular rate in mind, they can custom make it too.

The spring choice is hard enough with rate choice alone then add in what vendor it gets really bad.
