Default Need a good idea...

can anyone help me think of a way around this without buying ANOTHER $90 A/C hose? The threads on the low side charging valve on my A/C hose are stripped. I need to get an elbow installed on there so I dont have to remove the belt tensioning bolt everytime i'm trying to hook up a gauge or charge the A/C. so are there any ideas on what i might be able to do to get an elbow permanently installed on the r-12 valve so i can get ther r-134 fitting attached to it?

You might try contacting a hydraulic hose company in your area. They may be able to come up with something for you. However, if the hose has much age on it, I'd go ahead and replace it because you never know when it might start leaking.

A good a/c shop can put a new hose end with an R134 charge fitting on your hose, but if they are more than a few years old I would just get a new hose.

Look around, you may have another port on the accumulator.
If you have a low pressure sensor switch, you can use that port.
Just bypass switch while charging.
How bad is it stripped, an a/c shop might be able to fix it.
