my driver side rear wheel is canted all kinds of wierd... the bottom is further out, and the top is further in than on any other tire on the car.. the other 3 appear pretty straight to the naked eye. my question is what could cause this? bad wheel bearing? is there camber/caster in the read that i am unaware of? it drives alright, other than the steering feeling loose, but it is old, so i expected that. no rattles or wierd bouncing. car is a '79 auto.

Rear camber out of wack.
You'll have to look under the rear of the car and see if the camber adjustment bolt is loose, it's under the differential. Or the bushings are worn out and may have to be replaced. PG
so there is a camber on the rear?? wierd.. and cool i guess. ill jack it up in a bit to see if it wiggles.. can someone tell me where this camber bolt is?
The camber adjustment bolt is an ob-long shaped adjuster located on the inboard end of the strut rod. (under the diff) If it comes loose, the lets the strut rod move outward (moving the bottom of the wheel outward) I ditched the stock strut rods and went with aftermarket (easier to adjust). BTW...you live about 10 minutes from me, (I'm in Carthage)
Look for the strut rod that runs from under the diff to the shock mount on each tire assembly. The bolts that hold it are somewhat adjustable and will allow you adjust the tire. I have the adjustable strut rods on mine and its somewhat easier to adjust than the factory set up. As said earlier make sure all your bushings are in good shape, if they're not the wheel will move.
my rear drivers tire is the same way has brand new suspension (i didnt put it in, previos owner) but i checked it and he had receits i have been trying to figure out what wrong with the the camber looks good, shocks are new, the leafs are new...
jposhjtired-Let me know if you get it fixed/what has wrong
Fixed it!! it was the camber bolt. i looked at the other side, and the washer was more outside than inside.. well, driver side was reversed.. so i loosened the nut, turned the bolt from the front of the car until the bolt was midline and the washer was toward the outside. the bolt should be on the bottom inside, on both sides.. at least for mine. my boots and what not are a little worn, but in this case, it was just needing to be repositioned. hope this helps avery (compared one side to the other and then make them match, in the simplest of terms)
