Default Fuel Pump

I ordered a Mr. Gasket 7703 fuel pump from Summit. The bowl on this pump is much shorter than the one that came off the engine. When I look on application it says the new pump will fit. Will it fit and work correctly?

How do the fitting locations compare to the stock GM pump. Personally I'd send it back and run a new GM pump.

If the bowl is shorter then the metal fuel line coming from the carb will not fit.Dont be tempted to run rubber from pump to the carb.

I guess I am confused. The fuel lines already had rubber hoses to the fuel pump. Also the parts stores sell the pre-formed hoses from the fuel line to the pump. Is this not correct?

The inlet and return lines are mounted on the bottom bowl which can be moved to several different locations which I believe at least one will work.

If you have the rigid metal line from the pump to the carb, that will not fit since the shorter pump connection point is higher. I use a stock GM pump on mine. The metal line fits.

Rubber from the fuel lines coming from the frame going to the pump is correct.
Rubber from the pump going up to the carb is not correct.
