What did a stock 69 w/ the 300hp/380ftlbs 350 run in the quarter mile? I immediatly put headers, performer intake and crane 270H cam in before i even drove the car. Also, as i havent had the car to the track yet any estimated times for included mods?

I would estimate low to mid 14s at about 98 to 100. You have a pretty steep gear with 4.11 so that will help. Traction is a key to low ETs. I thought you already had the mods done. I would suspect high 14s to low 15s without mods. I think Juliets 350 300 horse did this when she ran her car
ive got 3927188 castings on there now which seem to be 76cc small valved heads...i dont think these are the stock heads for are they? any input on whether they are and if theyre not what did the base 350 come with?

Are you sure that the casting numbers aren't 3927186? These would be the correct castings for your '69. They have a nominal combustion chamber size of 64cc and a nominal intake port volume of 160cc. They were available in small valve (1.94/1.50) and large valve (2.02/1.60) applications. 1970 (perhaps even late 1969) big valve applications also received screw in rocker studs and pushrod guide plates.
Your 300hp (ZQ3) engine would be the small valve variety.
The ZQ3 engine in the article posted on SuperFast's website is backed by a 3 speed manual transmission, which is about the worst performance setup you'd ever want. Juliet's 1970 350/300 is a VERY stock car that has most of the available options including A/C. She has run a 15.2 with a THM 400 and a 3.08 rear axle ratio. I'd expect a car with fewer options and a higher (numerical) rear axle ratio to be quicker.
hey john, popeye told me he put 2.02/1.60 heads on the car before he sold it to ya. . . but not positive on that one.. my 350 had 64cc 1.94/1.50 heads on them, that would be my guess as to what you have on there if popeye didnt put those other heads on.
Unless the intake valves were unshrouded when they upgraded to the 2.02/1.60 from the 1.94/1.50 valves, the "larger" heads actually flow less. That problem was solved on the LT-1 heads (1970).
They put in screw in studs, guide plates, ground out the combustion chamber to unshroud the intake valve, and installed 2.02/1.60 to get more flow.
I'd pull them, and if they're 1.94/1.50 leave them. If they're 2.02/1.60, get them flow benched to check flow...if it seems low, there may be some chamber work in store.
AFAIK, I have -186 heads, late '69 casting. What I know of them so far is that the valve seats have been replaced, there are dual springs on the valves, regular steel rockers, pressed in studs (no guideplates), and TRW hardened chromemoly pushrods. I'm probably going to switch to roller rockers soon. It seems to be an inexpensive way to get some extra oomph. :smash:
