Default 72 rear deck vent tube replacement??? help

In my 72 coupe I desperately need to replace the rubber rear deck vent tubes that run from the vents on the rear deck behind the rear window and have drain exits in the rear wheel wells above the tires... I know somewhere I rear you have to drill out the rivots holding the drain cover in the wheel well but how do you even get a drill up in there??? Anyone that has done this please advise on some steps on how this is done.

thanks again,

Sully

When I did mine i used a sharp carpenters chisel to shear the heads off the rivets. The carpenters chisel will cut the heads off clean so the drain cover will come off easily.

I used a small grinding wheel in my drill to grind the heads off.

Pretty simple to replace them. Hardest part was removing old rivets. I used a chisel--dremel probably better. Just made sure you have a heavey duty rivet gun with the 3/16 aluminum rivets. Are you replacing the carpet, etc. too?
