Default Differential fluid plug

I'm trying to remove diff plug. It looks like an allens head? I've searched posts, but can't find out what size it is. Anybody know? It's an '81.

There was a thread on this just this week, I believe. Do a search and you should find it. In the mean time, try an adjustable wrench. That works on my '76. I don't believe there is a socket that fits it.

I've searched and read posts stating you can use crescent wrench or 8 point wrenches. Here's what I'm looking at.

You can pick up a set of hex wrenches to solve the problem. They're not expensive and will come in handy for other projects. I don't know whether that is the original plug or not. In any event, clean all that crap away from the plug prior to removing it.

Thanks guys! It was just an allen wrench. I was a bit confused after reading everyone else's post about crescent/adjustable wrenches. All good now.
