Default Colum interlock ?
Could someone please tell me exactly what the colum interlock does?
I have a 69 convertible that doesn't have the cable installed.

It locks the trannie (4-speed) in reverse as a theft deter.

You cant remove the key unless its in reverse. If your cable is missing someone may have 'tied up' the mechanism near the firewall to over ride it.
