I have convinced an aftermarket parts producer to develop a set of fixed headlights for C3.
They have two proyectors headlights per side with HID lamps on the Lows.
I don't know if they will market them but at least I will have a set
The first prototypes will we ready on august, Will post pictures.
I bought mine with the fixed lamps already installed, not sure where they came from but I know you can buy the set up through Corvette Central, including the glass shields.
This is what I have. it's not completely finished yet, I still have to install an aluminium ring between the bucket and the glass to mount the lexan covers on and some mesh in the opening in the middle so you can't look back but still have ventilation to keep moisture out.
And how they come on (driving light wasn't hooked up yet)

Nice. That is what I intend to do. I currently have the square, recessed models in mine. I intend to put in round HID, and then the L88 style lexan covers.
The primary reason I have stayed away from any plastic lens on the front lights is the Florida sun bakes them foggy in a second...they don't last very long....some cars are so bad you can't imagine....and since a shark is almost flat to the sun in that body style, I can't see it lasting long at all.....
see site for pix....those are late camaro bulbs in the old eclker's sugar scoop setup like other have pix above....
It may be due to the plastic they use Policarbonate with UV protection should last very long but is much more expensive than pet, acrilic and most other transparent plastics.

Don't know/remember much about plastics and certainly nothing about who uses what for their cars....just know enough to stay CLEAR of the entire subject matter.....
Glass is class....it works why change the empire???
