Long story short, my old 327 in my 68 vert was very old and tired and my muncie m21 also.
I got a replacement engine og the muncie rebuilt. Now Im ready to reinstall them. But how do I check if I need a new clutch too? The old one worked fine before disassembly, but has probably a lot of miles on it.
If a new one is recommended, would a standard RAM clutch kit be okay? (less than 300 hp on the engine)
i put a centerforce dual friction set in my 68 with fresh 375 hp 327 and an m21 and it works wonderfully!!!!!
deffinetly change all clutch, pressure plate, TO bearing, and pilot bushing!! and check your fork for busted tabs (that ride on the TO bearing) etc..
Def new clutch . I just did my 427/435 with a Federated parts Brute force clutch made by zoom stock replacement 4 Borg Warner. Picked up at my local parts store $146. It was the entire kit pilot bearing , throw out bearing, clutch , PP . dont forget to resurface your flywheel
