Default Latest on LT-1 w/282S cam rebuild 12/28/01

I replaced the heater core this afternoon, I was freezing my ... off. All went well there and I did a little repair under the dash while I was in there.
As for the engine: I did have a bit of oil burning coming from the left exhaust pipe the other day. I was worried until tonight. I had read a post about running the engine stronger than what I had been to help seat the rings.
I went out and made several strong accelerations at speed and when I came home the smoking was no more.
I ran the car to 5000 in a few bursts and it pulled strong all the way through.
Idle is steady and I am going to do an oil change this weekend before I go on a little cruise on New Years Day with a few of the Southern Indiana Forum Members. They say a 154 mile cruise, unlike the C-5 I will have to stop for gas once. Even though from what I can tell with the 300+ miles I have put on the mileage has improved from the rebuild.

I have also been impressed with the torque and power this cam makes. With your dual plane, I bet it is even a bit stronger than mine down low. How does it compare with the LT-1 cam so far?

My original cam was really wore out but the 282 has a lot more power low and mid range. The power is constant un like the LT1 that just cam on in a burst around 4000. But that was the design and intent to make a top end engine.
I still haven't pushed where I want yet but that will be after the oil change and plug inspection this weekend.
