Santa didn't come through for me this year, but my mastercard and a quick visit to Summit Racing's web site got better results. I received my G-tech meter last night, but unfortunately it started raining about the same time and it looks like it will rain for several days. :( Looks like I'll be waiting a while before I can put it to good use. Until then, lets see some of your results with the G-tech. Does anyone have any 0-60, 1/4mi, hp, or G force results you would like to share.
Tom
Hey Chuck, if the rain stops this weekend and the roads dry up, bring the Z06 over and we'll have some fun with this thing :) :chevy
I tried 0-60 three times.....5.01, 4.88, 4.77. All up in smoke on BFG Radial T/As on the longest, safest, least travelled road close to home (cemetery access road next to an expressway). Haven't done 1/4 mile yet. Don't want to do 100+ until I can find a more suitable location.
Mark, I'm hoping for similar numbers. How did you launch? I have not yet tried to figure how to launch this thing with the current engine configuration or 5 speed other than one or two sidestep launches a while back at 3000rpm. It did not do much for traction, but it sure was fun :D I know what you mean about finding a good road for this type of thing. The best road around here is long, straight , and flat with no sidestreets or hiding places for the law. Unfortunately, that road is lined with large oak trees every 100' or so. The thought of losing control from a broken u-joint or something else and ending up dodging oak trees makes it a little more risky than I'm comfortable with.
Norris, Getting this thing into the 12's is something I hoping to do, but nobody will be more surprised than me it this current motor does it. Don't feel bad that I keep getting the things your wishing for. If it will make you feel better, I'll show you my credit card statments   :cry A Corvette addict with a credit card is not always a good thing :D
I also got a G-tech. I'm having lots of fun with it. I've only done H.P.s with it so far. It's says that you just have to run the car to the redline in first gear to read H.P.s therefore speed is not as much of a concern. You know, worrying about the cops.I'm averaging around 210 at the rear wheels according to the G-tech with my 78. Does anyone else have any H.P. numbers?

Tom,
To be honest, it wasn't real thought out. I had the G-tech in another car ('96 TA WS6) and one day got the itch to see what kind of #s the Corvette would do. On the drive to locate a suitable location, I arrived at 3K as a good launch RPM (nice even # :D). I remembered the cemetery road. Got there, looked around for cops or anyone else that could give me some grief and did a straight clutch dump then feathered the gas while trying to keep the car straight. Did the same twice more and went home. I was very pleased with 2 of the 3 0-60s under 5 secs. I'm anxious to see what it will do with some sticky tires and maybe a little N2O. :D
Well guys, the roads dried up just enough for me to give this thing a try. I dumped the clutch at about 2500, smoked the tires a little and ran it through first and second. I got a little too anxious and short shifted into second around 5000rpm. That run was good for 0-60 in 5.83sec. On the second pass, it dispayed an error message, so I have no other numbers to show. I'm going to play with this thing some more in the coming weeks to see if I can get this thing to show me some low 5's, and with a little luck, maybe something in the 4's so I can keep up with Mark and Mike. :D
Waterhead, Did you have your car weighed or did you use a published weight figure? I will probably need to get mine weighed before I try that since I have seen so many different weight figures for early C3's on this forum.
well....how did you do?
there is no snow in san jose so whats the hold up?
Snow??? What's snow?   :D Is that that white stuff I see on top of the mountains when I'm outside enjoying the California sunshine in the winter :p: J/K I can tell you that is is really cold where we are. I think it might even drop down below 60 degrees today :jester
In the early part of December, Chris A had posted a question about the guestimated weight of his car for use with his G-Tech.
I wonder if he ever made any 0-60 or 1/4 mile runs? I would like to see performance numbers from a lot more Corvette Forum members for comparison.
I've been away from the forum for a few days and only say your post now. Congrats! Sounds like fun playing with this new toy, excuse me, I should say "TOOL" from Summit.
Re: I just got a G-tech.............. (Chuck Harmon)
Rember tire spin eats up time. I have an auto and pre load to about 1800rpm and come off the brake and do not floor it until about 10mph my best 0-60 on G-tech is 3.60

You mean there is a difference between tools and toys?  :D
Je68, Impressive numbers. Btw, your car looks very nice
Lets keep the numbers coming guys. Don't be affraid to show slower numbers too. These numbers will give us a good indication of what to expect from many different engine combinations.
• Acceleration Times to 1/100 sec.
• G’s, HP & Torque Graphs
• RPM sensing through advanced DSP techniques
• Intelligent Shift-light
• Traction and Cornering light
• Works on any vehicle
• No installation, 4 accelerometers built-in
D/L to PC....measures Torq, better readout LED display..
The page for the gtech comp. states it's release in winter of 2002. Does that mean within a couple of months of now or towards the end of 2002? Wonder what it costs.
I just called the 1800 number and the lady took a message and said she'd have someone in sales call me back. Group purchase is an interesting thought. I'll bet they are more money than the regular gtech at 139.99. My guess is that it'll be $250.

je68, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds is BRUTAL!:cool: You must be the Corvette Forum G-Tech king of the hill. Not to mention that your car looks FABULOUS:yesnod: Before your post, the best that I had heard was a post from a Z06 owner that had done a best of 3.85 seconds.
I will be shickled titless if I could pull a 4.6
