I'm getting ready to put new plugs in my 79 vette and I am thinking about using e3's.
Has anyone had any experience with these plugs good or bad?
thanks
well unfortunately i got the plugs before i got back on here, but before putting them in i held them up against the plugs that were in the motor and it looked as if the part that is inside the motor when the threads bottom out is noticeably longer then the plugs that came out. Should that concern me?
It could be a concern. Your heads call for a plug with a certain plug length. Too long and your piston could hit it, especially if it is a flat top or domed piston.
I had E3's in my 1979 L-82. They fouled so easy and created a miss I removed them and threw them away. I switched to Accel's. Haven't had a problem since.
When you install the E3's make sure you vehicle is running a lean as possible safely. Running just a little on the rich side will cause the electrodes on the E3's to foul due to their design.

E3S C3S I USE DENSO IRIDUIMS. TRIED AC PLATINUM, DENSO'S ARE PRICEY THOUGH. $14 A PLUG
I bought a set and had them installed....at first, I notice a small "seat of the pants" increase in performance. BUT after driving for about 3 months, I noticed the engine started to miss at idle... I pulled the plugs to check them out and the electrode didn't look like any other spark plug electrode I've ever seen. The best I can describe it is...sort of "rust" looking. The insulator looked fine (light tan)...the threads looked fine (no oil).
Didn't feel comfortable with that, so I went back to NGK plugs and haven't looked back...should have never changed them...but nothing ventured nothing gained.
